John Murphy
John is an Investment Adviser and a Principal of the Firm. John works with individuals, families and foundations providing investment advisory services and financial advice.
Prior to establishing the firm in 2000, John’s prior work experience included serving as a portfolio manager, the director of research for an investment firm and a CPA in the tax department of a public accounting firm.
John holds a J.D. from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. John and his wife live in Eden Prairie and are the parents of three adult children.

Tom Pohlad
Tom is an Investment Adviser and a Principal of the Firm, interacting with individual clients and families to provide investment and financial advice.
Before joining Murphy Pohlad Asset Management LLC in 2002, Tom spent 16 years as a principal of his family office. Tom invested in both public equity and fixed income securities, as well as managed investments in privately held businesses in industries ranging from consumer products to financial services. Prior to that, Tom worked as a commercial lender at a large Minnesota based bank.
Tom has a B.A. in biology from Middlebury College and a M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Minnesota. Tom lives in Shorewood with his wife and has three adult daughters.

Aaron Banke
Aaron is an Investment Adviser, our President, and a Principal of Murphy Pohlad Asset Management LLC. Aaron’s focus includes embedding the values, commitments, and guiding principles of the founding members of the Murphy Pohlad team into the DNA of future leaders of the firm. He overseas organizational activities, strategies, and procedures designed to meet the individual objectives of our clients.
Prior to joining Murphy Pohlad Asset Management LLC, Aaron worked as a CPA with a local accounting firm. Aaron holds a B.S. in finance from Saint Cloud State University.
Aaron lives in Prior Lake with his wife and two children. He enjoys outdoor activities, following Minnesota sports teams, and spending time with friends and family.

Zach Wallace
Zach is an Investment Adviser and works with individuals and families. He understands your life has ups and downs, and that you need somebody that you trust to provide unbiased advice.
Zach joined Murphy Pohlad Asset Management LLC in 2020. Prior to joining the firm, Zach started his career at a national financial planning firm. It was there he learned the importance of each individual client, and now enjoys the ability to provide the personal advice clients deserve.
Zach has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Minnesota and is a CFP® professional. He and his wife live in Minnetonka with their dog, and is a passionate Minnesota sports fan.

Katherine Praschak
Katherine is a Financial Manager and Investment Analyst providing a supportive role for the Investment Advisers with cash flow analysis and market research. She values a client’s trust and collaborates with the advisers to support the objectives of each individual client.
Katherine is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a B.A. in Financial Management. During her last year at the University, she completed our Intern Program.
In Katherine’s free time, she enjoys doing outdoor sports with friends and spending time with her family.

Charleen Stoeckel
Charleen is a Financial Manager providing a support role to our Investment Advisors. Her role includes portfolio accounting, office management and Client support.
She has a degree in Accounting and Business Management from Damelin College in South Africa.
Charleen was raised in South Africa and has lived in London, Scotland, Germany, and Switzerland. She moved to the US in 2006 and lives with her family in Minnetonka.
